OH, HELLO JULY! This month is kind of turning out to be an advent calendar of magazine articles and photoshoots and interviews and clips and stills ALL LEADING UP TO THE 25TH JULY, AKA THE DAY WHEN MULDER AND SCULLY ARE BACK IN BLACK.

It's been a long eight months since XF2 became official, and there have been so many doubting Thomas moments -- David-looks-old-and-bloated moments, Gillian-looks-weird-and-bony moments, look-at-their-scary-wrinkles moments -- and I know I have had a vague but constant undertone of worry if they were really still young enough to play the two incredibly good-looking FBI agents they spent so many years portraying.

ALL THAT IS OVER.

ANYWAY, it's not like everyone hasn't had the pleasure of seeing this set of photographs several times over, so this picspam is... mostly for me. So I can come back and look at these pictures again and again and again and again!

Lately I'm reaaaaally addicted to friendsfriends. And I kind of started rebooting my LJ. And the weather is really hot. And the new powercord for my laptop still hasn't come in the mail. And I might need to reorganize my tags. AND MY IPOD IS STILL BROKEN! I really like fireworks! Sometimes I feel like my friends go out of their way to ORCHESTRATE DRAMA IN THEIR LIVES. And what exactly do you do when your DVD copy of your FAVORITE MOVIE EVER is tragically missing and has been for months? Buy a new one? I MISS IT.

3. I had not seen those photos (ha obviously), so posting them was helpful to at least one person outside of you! I love them, especially the ones of Gillian Anderson (I use both names because I don't know her in a fandom way?) with the alien mask and her thumb in her mouth. honestly i can't imagine david and gillian NOT being attractive. it's just such a ridiculous concept to me that even when they start to sag and have all the other stuff happen to them as we age--i think even if i saw them in real life i'd have this mental picture of them in their glorious television days and just stick it over who they actually are. i have a very good imagination!

i suppose that's one of the nicest things about being a television or film star -- even if you do start to say or do a meg ryan and end up with awful plastic surgery, there's always that record of how beautiful you were. that's the part of you that people will always remember!

*nods* I had my doubts about DD and GA looking their parts. mostly cause I couldn't accept time has passed and neither DD&GA nor Mulder&Scully can look like they once did, lol. so even if they weren't as hot anymore, they would still look their parts, I guess? buuuuuuuuut man, this shoot has shut me up for good. I know, magazines are not to be trusted when it comes to people looking their age, we'll still have to see what they look like on screen (man, it's gonna be weird adjusting to this new/old Mudler&Scully; it's not so much the hotness factor that's worrying me, it's that they are so DIFFERENT). but one thing's for sure: they are fucking pretty and I can only hope I'll look half as good when I'm...50. I KNOW! Scully and her long hair! Mulder's got this weird pseudo-Californication do! I have always had such issues with their hair, and suddenly it's MAGNIFIED.

I guess that's the nice thing about them setting the movie in 2008, though -- they keep saying things have changed for these characters and... I suppose they really have. Even if they were saggy and not pretty they'd have the excuse of time passed.
