OH, HELLO JULY! This month is kind of turning out to be an advent calendar of magazine articles and photoshoots and interviews and clips and stills ALL LEADING UP TO THE 25TH JULY, AKA THE DAY WHEN MULDER AND SCULLY ARE BACK IN BLACK.

It's been a long eight months since XF2 became official, and there have been so many doubting Thomas moments -- David-looks-old-and-bloated moments, Gillian-looks-weird-and-bony moments, look-at-their-scary-wrinkles moments -- and I know I have had a vague but constant undertone of worry if they were really still young enough to play the two incredibly good-looking FBI agents they spent so many years portraying.

ALL THAT IS OVER.

ANYWAY, it's not like everyone hasn't had the pleasure of seeing this set of photographs several times over, so this picspam is... mostly for me. So I can come back and look at these pictures again and again and again and again!

(PS. We're getting SKIN. AND GILLIAN IS A GOOD KISSER. And OHMYGOD I LOVE PRESS TOURS.)
(PSS. Please don't, like, make icons out of these pictures I have colored? All of the originals should be in [livejournal.com profile] xfiles! You can use those!)

Lately I'm reaaaaally addicted to friendsfriends. And I kind of started rebooting my LJ. And the weather is really hot. And the new powercord for my laptop still hasn't come in the mail. And I might need to reorganize my tags. AND MY IPOD IS STILL BROKEN! I really like fireworks! Sometimes I feel like my friends go out of their way to ORCHESTRATE DRAMA IN THEIR LIVES. And what exactly do you do when your DVD copy of your FAVORITE MOVIE EVER is tragically missing and has been for months? Buy a new one? I MISS IT.

1. what is your favorite movie ever?
2. I listened to that Acid House Kings song on my bike the other day and you were right, it was perfect!
3. I had not seen those photos (ha obviously), so posting them was helpful to at least one person outside of you! I love them, especially the ones of Gillian Anderson (I use both names because I don't know her in a fandom way?) with the alien mask and her thumb in her mouth. Those are the kind of photos I always wish for my favorites to take - kind of soft and whitely lit (Terry Richardson style).

1. the philadelphia story! Have you seen it? IT'S SO EMOTIONALLY MAGNIFICENT, and subtly told, and so many great people are in it!
2. Your bike mix turned out to be equally perfectly pitched!
3. I agree, THOSE ESQUIRE ONES OF HER ARE MY FAVORITES. They're clever and lit prettily and unique and relevant? And she looks so nice! It's always really lovely when nice shoots like that happen to people I like.

I have not! I have seen maybe five older movies in my life, something I've been trying to rectify recently. I will put that one on my list.

(and yay glad the mix sounded good to you)

ESQUIRE. Takes good photos. Not as good as GQ, but let's not kid ourselves, who does.

You know I've actually never thought to compare which magazines produce the best photoshoots? I mentally keep track of the tacky ones but not the good ones. HMMM. Investigative research may have to be done.

I don't think anything touches GQ photoshoots. There is nothing more delightful than turning the page of an issue and seeing one of my favorite actors in a fashion spread. SO CLASSY. They had that one with Chacey a few months back and I THOUGHT I WAS IN HEAVEN.

But GQ is my favorite magazine anyway so I'm biased. When I used to get Blender I liked theirs even though they were kind of trashy and slutty. Otherwise it's hit or miss for me.

I doooooo remember that Chace photoshoot -- I think of GQ as always picking nice clothes. They're really good at putting men in suits and making it look different every time. I can't remember the last time I actually read one, though.

I CONCUR. very few things on this planet beat GQ photoshoots. I also really enjoy shoots from that one magazine that had a cover with Gosling throwing something (I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF IT FOR THE LIFE OF ME. Do you even have any idea what I'm talking about?) I'm pretty sure it's in my pretty men picspam (WHICH I'M THINKING OF DOING A SEQUEL TO. CURRENTLY TAKING SUBMISSIONS FOR MEN AS WE SPEAK) so I'll have to go back to reference that.

Vanity fair is also quite lovely, but don't have nearly as much as others.

I don't know what Gosling cover that was. Hmm. Maybe search a Gosling site?

OHMYGOD YOU'RE DOING A SEQUEL?!?!? YES!!!! FARAH FARAH FARAH YAAAAY. I would like to request Robert Downey and maybe the Gossip Girl boyz but since you don't know them yet don't sweat it if you're not feeling it. Oh and Jakey Gyll is kind of obvious but you never know when you'll be hit with an overlooking spell. OH AND GASPARD. Do you like Gaspard? Gaspard is my #1.

Yes Vanity Fair! I always enjoy their Hollywood Issue or whatever that thing's called, when they take the special pictures and tell us who the most important actors are. I loooved the photoshoot my icon is from.
