I keep meaning to say! I have kind of sort of been doing a music blog for the last couple of weeks! It was one of those weird things where I wanted to have it separate from my internet ~identity~ for awhile, I don't know, I've only mentioned it to two people. Plus I have always sort of kind of felt weird talking about music on lj more than a little bit, it's like there's a very specific subsection of people who also care but... it is not everyone. It is basically just a lot of rambling about songs I like, but if a lot of words about (mostly) indie pop (but also some pop pop and who knows what else) sounds like your thing, it's here.

ANYWAY MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY, after the Good Wife finale aired [livejournal.com profile] thecolorbetween asked for a repeat of this red paint picspam. ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE!! ...a month and a half later. )

GUYS DO YOU REMEMBER THESE GIRLS:

I love this video, every time I happen back upon it I am struck anew by how it is, in video form, is my seminal preteen "romantic" fantasy: tall grass, antique furniture, muted colors, long dark hair, and lots of rain. I swear every M2M video was some different little girl fantasy of the teen years, and ugh I love the dudes in them, they are so hilariously, boringly early '00s attractive. PRETTY BOY INDEED.

Anyway that is all, carry on. Or don't, and tell me about a band you imprinted on as a preteen. I never tire of youtube nostalgia. (Obviously.)

Florence Welch has got to be Blake Lively's secret, long-lost, redheaded older sister.

And because I know it is unlikely I'll post before the 16th (and hey! It's already the 15th in London!), happy happy birthday to my old friend [livejournal.com profile] tashternal! And while I'm at it, happy belated, [livejournal.com profile] silverstars! FACT: October babies > all the other ones. I use both of you as proof of this.

Also, dear new friends, I'm sorry this incredibly random exercise in nostalgia is your introduction to me. I will commence polling and this-is-my-last.fm-ing at some to-be-determined date in the future. :D?

Yesterday my replacement laptop came, and then today... another replacement laptop came. I... don't even know, Staples. It's been two months of them sucking at service and this... is the hilarious icing on their little cake of failure?

BUT BUT BUT: dear friends, what were your favorite summer albums? I am depressingly behind on new music and I would love some recommendations for when I slog through the deluge of things I've missed.

FANDOM HIGHLIGHT OF TODAY: CHUCK BLOOPER REEL! I think, after months and months of the strike pushing this show to the back of my fandom consciousness, that somewhere between this and the commercials that NBC has been airing that it has somehow become the show I most want back? REMEMBER HOW FUN IT WAS LAST FALL? I miss the Nerd Herd and Awesome and Sarah Walker's silly little Weinerlicious outfit? THANK GOODNESS WE GET MORE SOON.

I am suuuuuper bored, does anyone want to make fun of crappy fall sneak previews with me?

specifically, the new 90210 and fringe )

Ohhhhh, a couple of weeks ago I heard that Michelle Branch was putting out a new album? Is this like, general public knowledge that I am late on? Supposedly it's all country-fied like the Wreckers album one was, which, sighhhhhhhh, makes me overall disinterested, but it sent me on this wave of nostalgia for the summer of 2003, when Hotel Paper came out and Michelle Branch was ALL I EVER TALKED ABOUT, and [livejournal.com profile] praedial made fun of me and [livejournal.com profile] tashternal and I were going to start a fansite and [livejournal.com profile] foxy_flamingo and I were desperate to be the top Michelle Branch listeners on audioscrobbler. I think I might still have a Michelle Branch layout [livejournal.com profile] aliice made for me somewhere??? And then we were all scandalized when she did Maxim! MB was Meredith & I's first concert, and Vivian and I made (more than one, sigh) weird lip syncing music video to her songs. Neither of them even liked her that much? I barely ever listen to her anymore, but god, she was a big big big part of that stage of my life. So thanks for that, Michelle.

I AM SO PUMPED FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!! Creek Fest, HERE I COME.

1. In Rainbows is ridiculously wonderful, and it makes me SO MANY KINDS of happy just to listen to it. Thank you, Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Colin Greenwood, and Phil Selway. Thank you.
2. The Pipettes! Are coming to Denver! Finally! On November 5th! [livejournal.com profile] lovecycle, I DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PLANNED ON THIS NIGHT, I do not care if it is your boyfriend's birthday (or your other boyfriend's birthday) or the night of some school play (it can't be), THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE DOING ON NOVEMBER 5TH AT EIGHT P.M. And if for some reason you are still stupid enough to not want to come with me, know that I will go with someone else. But I thought of you first!
3. I made a fanmix! For Pushing Daisies! Already! I'm a little embarrassed by how quickly television kind of, um, grew on me this season? Usually I am not inspired to make a fanmix (in four hours) after two episodes of a show, but um. This time I was.
