THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY:
Guys. Guys. What did we do before youtube came into existence? Before youtube was laden with clips of absolutely everything you could possibly want, how did we fangirl properly? In order to see this scene I haven't seen since the tender age of three, I would have had to drive to the Video Station, pay $3 for Roberta, and then drive back to my house. Instead, a few clicks and I am watching Fred and Ginger dance prettily JUST LIKE THAT. (Also randomly of youtubish note: Hugh Laurie as Vincent Minnelli in a crappy made-for-TV Judy Garland biopic. Ahahahaha.)
So I just finished "Roman Holiday" and. Um. I had maintained some sort of Gossip Girl aloofness until this moment, wherein I could tell myself that I was only invested in less than half of the plotlines and I could tell the family members and friends who mocked me for watching it in the living room that yes, okay, the Kristen Bell voiceovers were lame as hell and Nate was really boring and his family storyline was very whatever and OF COURSE I am only watching it because there was this one guy who name-dropped my favorite favorite book while courting his very lovely Upper East Side blonde, and now... I don't know. I think I am won over :(
By the way, you guys, what do normal people take for colds? I STILL HAVE THIS CRAPPY COLD, and when I asked my sister's not-quite boyfriend this morning what people who have not grown up with hippie parents and homeopathic rememdies buy at the supermarket when they are going through a tissue box an hour he said Emergen-C. Which only serves to prove to me why Whole Foods is busier in this town than all of the regular stores combined.
AHHHHHH, you guys, HAPPY 2008! I am super excited for the books I have decided to read this year, for everyone's information!

And I'm with you on Gossip Girl. Idk, out of nowhere it became good and I fell in love with everyone and I want Dan for myself. And I'm like super invested and shit.

You are so right about it coming out of nowhere! When I finished the Pilot I was so underwhelmed with almost everything I almost didn't bother with the second episode. And now I don't even know!

-Uhhh when I have a cold I usually take Sudafed.
-Happy 2008 to you too! (I am also compiling a list of books to read for the year =D)

OOH, are you going to post your list? Mine is semi-short, actually, so I'd love things to add to it!

I'll probably post my reading list at some point.

AND I KNEW YOU WOULD, I KNEW THAT WOULD HAPPEN TO YOU. Excellent, Alex. We can stay friends.
(also it looks like you got help with the cold thing but I'd also recommend Cold-Eeze, they're cough droppy things with zinc in them that are clinically proven to reduce the duration of a common cold. /commercial)

I AM SO PREDICTABLE IN THAT WAY, but I do not even care anymore! When JP mocked me for watching it in the middle of a Lily/Rufus scene (who I kind of really love!) I told him I was sorry he hated fun. And it is fun! Yay Josh Schwartz.
Excellent! Apparently there are all sorts of cold remedies outside my hippie box.

Also! I watched some fifteen minutes of Gossip Girl the other day and I am sad to admit that it has somewhat sucked me in as well. Must be all the prettiness, I think.
Eeep I'm sorry to hear about your cold :( I take Robitussin and it works all right. It helps when it's accompanied by many glasses of water and orange juice and hours of sleep, too!
HAPPY 2008!

It is oddly memsmerizing like that?
Oooooh, thank you! Apparently there is a world of cold care outside of my hippie town bubble.

Anyway, just let me know whether/when you'll be here, and what's going on with that. The quickest way to reach me is via e-mail, though I'm only able to check once (at most, twice) a day. I may hop back on later tonight, depending on what I do today. Talk to you soon! :)

It happened the same way with Gossip Girl for me :P

Also, I've found myself becoming weirdly addicted to Gossip Girl. It's kind of terrible, beacuse it's really not that great a show and yet I find myself so drawn into it.

Gossip Girl just sort of twists you in like that? It is weird, but I feel the exact same way. It's really really not good, but I have so much fun while watching it? I mean, I think I have five icons now :( HELP.

Oh Gossip Girl, you're so weirdly addictive.
