aaaaall the way

By my own rules I am not supposed to be Christmas-y until the day after Thanksgiving, BUT THEN GAP OUTDID THEMSELVES WITH THEIR 2008 ADS AND I HAD TO. HAD TO. (ALTHOUGH, okay, I'm also feeling oddly chatty and just felt like posting? HI!!) It is so many things I love about the holiday season: cute sweaters, dorky dancing, sooooongs, and glee. Also if you, like me, listened to this and thought "WHY DO I NOT HAVE AN AWESOME HIP HOPPY VERSION OF JINGLE BELLS ANYWHERE IN MY ITUNES???" there is a just plain Trey & Flo version, AND I WILL FIGURE OUT HOW TO RIP IT, SOMEHOW.
Tomorrow I am going to buy myself candles. Lots and lots of delicious smelling candles. Also sheet music. Except knowing my penchant for procrastination, I will still be saying this a week from now :(
P.S. FUN UNRELATED FACT: The Christmas classic "Baby, It's Cold Outside" originates from a crappy Esther Williams swimming movie from the 50s (I think it was the 50s?) that has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE HOLIDAYS AT ALL.

Date: 2008-11-17 05:22 am (UTC)I think my favorite non-traditional Christmas song may be a tie between "Last Christmas" by Jimmy Eat World and "The Christmas Song" (OOOOOH MY GOD, I wish it weren't a Christmas song so I'd have an excuse to listen to it all the time). And aaaaah, I can't find it on iTunes, I think it disappeared!

Date: 2008-11-17 05:37 am (UTC)Oh, I looooooove that Jimmy Eat World song SO VERY MUCH. My sister hates it, she spends the Christmas season telling me how terrible it is. My other favorite is Ron Sexsmith's "Maybe This Christmas".
ANYWAY:

Yes! Was it the song they used in all the Chrismukkah episodes or was it just in "The Best Christmukkah Ever"? I don't think I've seen any of the other ones since they aired.

Date: 2008-11-17 06:00 am (UTC)I liked, it was 5 people. And one of them was named Claire, so of course, I was all, "STEPS RULEZ!" Also worth a watch:
(Those are the only songs I still have of them, but I'm pretty sure they were all awesome.)
I think it was just "The Best Chrismukkah Ever." Was that the one where Marissa stole? Because I think it was that episode.

Date: 2008-11-17 06:35 am (UTC)I loved O-Town too! I was too defiant to like *NSync or Backstreet Boys with the same fervor as everyone else, so I picked up O-Town and 98 Degrees instead.
I KEEP FORGETTING: here's Janelle Monae (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=20020beef39f3c5fc74064dd4c81b78a3858770053f42b8a)!

Date: 2008-11-17 06:53 am (UTC)I was never really into 98 Degrees, but one time during the Thanksgiving Day Parade, one of them waved to me (I think it was Drew?) or looked right at me (mind you, I was in a building, so they probably weren't even looking at me), and I was like, *~*"Oh my god, I looooove him, I want to date him, he is perfect, he likes me, he waved at me, he knows who I am!!"*~* Yep.
Thank you, again! :-)
