I like them in theory, but I don't really like watching any sports and they just mess up my tv watching. But yay for international cooperation and competition and such :P
Yeeeah, they do. As far as I can remember our team is pretty good, too? Mark Todd's got a horse named Gandalf this year, WHICH REALLY ENTERTAINS ME. But I won't watch it for any other reason, and most of the time I miss it anyway and get stuck watching like, swimming. And lololol, I might have a faint idea as to why you like the winter Olympics better.
Wellllll. Hm. I voted "equally awesome." But technically, I watch much more of the winter olympics. It's just that my love for gymnastics eclipses my love for any other Olympic sport - winter or summer.
Oh, gymnastics! I had almost forgotten we got that! Last time I caught the summer Olympics it must've been 2000 (we had just moved and didn't have television in 2004) so I'm weirdly out of touch with summer events. BUT YES, GYMNASTICS RARELY DISAPPOINTS.
Summer, only because I'm from the ~tropics~ and we don't see many Winter sports in action here. And Summer boasts a great line up of events, including gymnastics, swimming (Phelps!), diving, badminton, table tennis, tennis and athletics.. I'm an Asian at heart!
Just so you know, I will always associate Phelps with you, foxy_flamingo, and that summer of 2004. I've never actually seen him swim, though? I SUPPOSE THIS YEAR WILL RECTIFY THAT.
Don't disown me! I'm a big soccer fan. And there's pingpong. And (prepare to lol) synchronized swimming! I just don't know how they can do it so PERFECT and also not drown.
THEY COULD MAKE A FALL AND SPRING OLYMPICS AND I WOULD LOVE THEM ALL AND WATCH EVERY SECOND OF COVERAGE. I HAVE SUCH MORAL QUALMS WITH A CHINA OLYMPICS BUT...OMFG ITS THE OLYMPICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS: I WROTE COLLEGE WHEN I MEANT COVERAGE. JET LAG IS BAD.
Once I tried to make a list of plausible Fall and Spring Olympic events (I was 9 and Olympic-obsessed) but I couldn't come up with any. BUT UM. I don't know what's up with everyone who apparently doesn't care? WHAT IS WITH THE WORLD?
How bad it is that I really don't know which are the winter ones and which the summer ones? lol, that shows how much we (as a country, you know) care about the olympics buut i voted for the summer because you see, summer -> now // now -> beijing08 olympic games // beijing08 (AWESOME) -> summer. hahaha I'm terrible like that :(
The thing is, we get the summer olympics in our winter, and the other way around, or then the seasons are mixed and it's chaotic. So go figure my confusion for the whole issue (hey, I'm not that stupid :[) I DO love figure skating, but apart from that, the sports played in the summer ones are LOVE (hockey, gimnastic, basketball, football) Plus, they are the ones in which we usually compete, so... Yeah, I think I still prefer the summer ones :P

I did watch the US gymnastics team compete yesterday night. And a bit of the swimming; it was very exciting.
