3 more days of chemistry, i might not make it

It just occurred to me that none of Rachel Bilson's future employers are probably ever going to care enough to employ her range of ridiculous facial expressions to their fullest, greatest extent. Ugh.

they probably saw jumper

[identity profile] mossharts.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
i bought that in the hmv sales about three years ago. it's still in the wrapping :|

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I think I got like fifteen minutes into it before I had to turn it off. AND I RARELY HAVE TO ACTIVELY TURN SOMETHING OFF, usually I just lose interest in bad movies and wander off to do something else.

[identity profile] mossharts.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
really? i'm probably never going to watch it now knowing that. ty for saying 90 minutes of my life. i can now waste them on weheartit and tumblr!

[identity profile] goldenmelisande.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
oh my god butting in to say that I THINK THAT IS THE ACTUAL WORST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE, I cannot like Zach Braff after seeing it.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
ACTUAL PINNACLE OF MANPAIN, WAH WAH WAH MY GIRLFRIEND IS GREAT BUT IT'S REALLY HARD TO BE ME

[identity profile] goldenmelisande.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOD SERIOUSLY, I JUST WANTED TO PUNCH EVERYONE IN THE FACE. plus the random scenes of that couple having sex that were randomly cut in the movie FOR NO REASON? SO TERRIBLE I DO NOT EVEN

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
DEFINITELY DID NOT GET THAT FAR INTO IT, thank god.

[identity profile] goldenmelisande.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
YOU ARE SO LUCKY

[identity profile] modernthirst.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
I would not have thought it possible but I think Jumper is actually worse.

Oh but god now I'm remembering the ending of Last Kiss. OH THAT FUCKING MOVIE, FUCK IT FUCK IT I HATE IT.

[identity profile] goldenmelisande.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Okay no, Jumper was bad but it wasn't actively horrific. Like, I don't really remember what happened or anything but I also wasn't offended by it. I AM ACTUALLY STILL OFFENDED, YEARS LATER, THAT I DEVOTED ANY AMOUNT OF TIME IN MY LIFE TO WATCHING THE LAST KISS, BECAUSE IT WAS A HORRIBLE AWFUL MOVIE, I don't even remember what happened at the end? Didn't the pregnant girlfriend end up taking him back after he douched out for no good reason at all?

YOU'RE RIGHT. AND YES, SHE BASICALLY DOES. AFTER HE SLEEPS OUTSIDE AGAINST THEIR FRONT DOOR FOR LIKE EIGHTY YEARS. BECAUSE THAT MEANS HE HAS CHANGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
I CANNOT AGREE THERE, Jumper was pretty lame but it did not actively make me want to die.

[identity profile] summerstorm.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 09:10 am (UTC)(link)
Jumping in to say, NEVER WATCH THE ORIGINAL. I made the mistake of watching L'Ultimo Bacio and everything that was annoying about Zach Braff's character in The Last Kiss seemed almost charming in comparison with that spiral of IDIOCY that was the original. The Last Kiss was a little boring; L'Ultimo Bacio was physically painful and I kept looking at the screen and thinking, "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU??!?"

The Last Kiss was okay for me, though, tbh, like it didn't make me want to set myself on fire or anything, and Rachel Bilson was pretty. The movie that ruined Zach Braff for me was Fast Track/The Ex/whatever they're calling it this week. That would be the actual worst movie I have ever seen in my life. One of a handful, anyhow.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
OH GOOD LORD THAT WAS A REMAKE?!?!!? Why would anyone ever want to recycle such a plot? Some things just need to be left for dead.

I don't think I'd even heard of that one! Zach Braff is so weird though, he's actually pretty perfect for his Scrubs role but he is so gross in... everything else.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/spyglass_/ 2010-08-04 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
That movie is absolutely awful. Maybe one of the worst ever.

[identity profile] mossharts.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
everyone has been talking about the the o.c. lately hmm.

it sucks that i gave my friend my season one dvds to watch last week because now i want to watch them, after neglecting them for a good couple of years.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
It legitimately took me twoish years to get over my irritation/disgruntledness enough that I could watch and enjoy season one again. That sucks though.

[identity profile] mossharts.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
season one is still amazing to me, i think because i haven't seen it since i got the dvds and i stopped watching the o.c. mid season two, so it's still all good for me, hopefully. it always happens, i have the mentality of a four-year old -- when someone else has it, i suddenly want it back

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think season one will ever not be amazing, but god damn do I have to use a lot of mental blocks now when I watch it. SANDY AND KIRSTEN DIDN'T SPEND SEASON TWO IN A SERIES OF ALMOST AFFAIRS, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE REFERRING TO.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/spyglass_/ 2010-08-04 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
SANDY AND KIRSTEN DIDN'T SPEND SEASON TWO IN A SERIES OF ALMOST AFFAIRS, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE REFERRING TO.

I AM STILL NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RESOLUTION TO EITHER OF THOSE NONAFFAIR STORYLINES, JSYK.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
I STILL PRETEND NONE OF THAT EVER HAPPENED

[identity profile] care-says.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I rewatched S2 this year and oh man, Summer's "bitches on boats" speech is still one of my favorite moments on television.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, YES. Summer really is the O.C.'s constant: maybe everything and everyone else sucked at some point, but she was always perfect.

[identity profile] care-says.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Ummm, everything else DID suck at some point. Remember S3 and the whole Johnny debacle? I was like, "Ugh, I'm so done with this show."

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/spyglass_/ 2010-08-04 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Now that I've butted in on several of your other conversations, what chem are you taking this summer?

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I'm TAing for Gen Chem. THE FIRST "SEMESTER" WENT OKAY, but jesus christ this one has just been a monstrosity.

[identity profile] summerstorm.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
I've been trying to rewatch The O.C. but my PlayStation has some kind of vendetta against the DVDs, IDEK. They're copies of the originals so they SHOULD work, but even when they do, it's like I'm watching Freeze-A-Lot instead of an actual show. :(

Rewatching bits of The O.C. always inevitably makes me love Ryan a little bit more than I did before, though, for some reason. He wasn't my favorite character the first time around, but I think I'd be lying if I said he isn't now.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know that I could ever pick a favorite on the O.C., I'm wishy-washy like that but I totally think there's something about Ryan that gets you on rewatches more than the first time around. Back in 2004 I was young and he was hung up on Marissa and they were never as entertaining as Seth and Summer, but... I don't know. Now when I go back my favorite thing about the entire show is Kirsten and Ryan and their burgeoning trust for each other.

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
WHY DOESN'T SHE GET MORE WORK?!

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
TOO BUSYING BEING A FASHIONISTA AND BEING BORINGLY ENGAGED TO HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN, I GUESS?

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL, SOMETIMES I FORGET ABOUT HAYDEN. Like, what's that all about? Were they in that movie together, Jumper or something? So stylish, Rachel. LET ME BE YOU, SORT OF.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
THEY WERE, she has a thing for co-stars, I suppose you could say.

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose you could. (But this kind of makes me sad.)

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
ME TOO. But I think I might have read something like two months ago that said they were on a break? POSSIBLY ON JEZEBEL, AND POSSIBLY FICTICIOUS. I am grossly overinvested in Brody/Bilson, Claire. GROSSLY.

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
They're never photographed together anymore? (WAIT, NEITHER ARE SIR JOSHUA AND DIANE, AND THIS IS SERIOUSLY MAKING ME QUESTION LIFE HERE. NO, IT'S OBVIOUSLY JUST DIFFERENT SCHEDULES. No, I'm serious, I'm not actually daring to think anything other than that or something similar.) LOL, Jezebel, reporting on celebrities. Brody/Bilson is not to be messed around with! I completely understand your investment!

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
YES BUT THAT IS EVIDENCE OF NOTHING and Hayden and Rachel is evidence of something, clearly, you know, by the rules of logic. AND LIKE JEZEBEL DOES ANYTHING ELSE.

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
WHATEVER, I CAN HOPE. Ryan and Rachel got back temporarily (EFF U, HATERS, WHO SAY IT WAS JUST A PHOTO OP), sooo. But ugh, Hayden, really? Hey! Jezebel reports on *~*women and their (women) problems*~*.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I WILL NEVER STOP HOPING. And Jezebel is really really hit or miss for me, to no longer be facetious, half the time I agree with them and the other half it is like "...did you really just say that?" I mean actually the ratio is more like 75/25, but the 25 is always reaaaaally "really?!"ish.

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
My housemate read it a lot, and I started to read it after she'd always send me links to cute puppies or baby animals or whatever that happened to have originated from Jezebel. I don't read it that frequently, but sometimes, they have articles that are, like, how do I describe them — I'm not looking for an article on this or that, but then I find it, and it's kind of perfect? And half the time, it's like, "Oh, this is awkward to admit, but this is perfect." Embarrassing? IDK. But I don't think I read it enough to be able to form a real opinion about its content.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it's not embarrassing! I really like the writing style of a lot of their writers, and they usually present their news in a way that interests me. And I like to read my celebrity gossip in a ~lady positive~ place. Plus they pick up some really amazing blogger essays along the way. All of which is why I do read it semi-regularly, but there is SO MUCH FILLER about terrible reality television, but sometimes I disagree with their byline on body image, and every so often they will be snarkily derisive about something in a way that bothers me.

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
A few months ago, a guy (who's gay, not that that really matters) I knew at school posted a specific Jezebel article — I don't remember which one, unfortunately — and said something about how the article exemplified what he didn't like about the site. Again, I don't really read it enough to be able to notice stuff like their body image byline (I wish I did), but I can sort of assume/figure out what people don't like about it? Sort of?

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you remember what it was that the article exemplified?

[identity profile] thecolorbetween.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
No, not at all, unfortunately! Sorry, I shouldn't have even mentioned it, since I don't remember it at all. It was a few months ago. Ugh, I really have absolutely no idea what it could have been about. :-\

[identity profile] adinfinitum.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
NGL THO HER INSTYLE "COLUMNS" LIGHT UP MY LIFE IDK IDK

BEING BORINGLY ENGAGED TO HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN, I GUESS?
WAIT, HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN STILL EXISTS? Proof or it's not true.

[identity profile] elapses.livejournal.com 2010-08-04 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
THEY ARE REALLY DELIGHTFUL, but it's kind of depressing because even though she's been moving away from acting and towards "I am so cute, LOOK AT MY CLOTHES" for awhile now this new job at InStyle cements that. SHE SEEMS REALLY HAPPY THOUGH, and it's not like she was a baby Meryl Streep, but. I am selfish and I like her face :(

FINDING PROOF WOULD INVOLVE WILLINGLY SUBJECTING MYSELF TO HIS FACE.

Summer Roberts: greatest ever.

UNQUESTIONABLE.
