I can feel the weight of October pressing and maaaaan I still have no idea what I'm doing for Nano. CRAP. It doesn't help that Sophi is my only ~real life~ friend doing it this year and half the fun of doing Nano is being eons ahead of all the real life friends, except for Sophi because Sophi exists mostly to write like the wind and make the rest of us feel bad about ourselves. THIS YEAR, THE REST OF US IS ME. She's already got a head start and is fully plotted, because she is a crazy person. So that'll be fun. What about you kids though, you doing it?

I alsoooooo booked a flight to Austin the weekend of my birthday. MATT'S EL RANCHO HERE I COME, HELL YEAH.

Nano writing is different from normal writing though -- I mean you do need a plot, but you're so focused on the word count that quality starts going out the window (you can always edit in December) and it's... I don't know. In that way it's easier than a short story. It's a really great exercise

Oh god, that whole thing turned out to be a FARCE. Apparently she just fainted (because of a combination of low blood pressure and dehydration), but when my mother tried to pick her up she started shaking (which happens when you move fainted people quickly!) and they thought it was a seizure and totally freaked me/everyone out. And wasted a trip to the emergency room. But it turned out fine. And yeah we totally should! Maybe this weekend?

i won't be able to do anything for the next two weekends because sept/oct is jewish holiday hell...i'm not kidding, we go through THREE major jewish holidays including two fasts in 4-5 weeks. you miss a lot of school sometimes which is so not fun. but i could do something during the weekdays...all the haunted houses are starting to open for halloween, wanna go to one? i don't know how into scary stuff you are, but i'm totally into it.

I can do a weekday! And while I would not describe myself as into scary stuff, I LOVE THE HAUNTED HOUSES. I'm totally a screamer though, BUT LET'S NOT LIE, it's better that way, because if they know you scare easier they come after you more.
