I assumed the articulation was somewhat implied, I cannot imagine someone really being persuaded to watch something by one of those fangirls, or anyone who just says "UGH, THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON TV" over and over (but maybe the "BEST SHOW" thing is a personal pet peeve?).
There is definitely something about XF that makes it something of a crown jewel fandom, though.
