i actually have to go RIGHT NOW but i expect to see FROLICKING IN THE COMMENTS when i get back >:(

I like friending memes! I sort of get why a lot of people don't, I mean, there's something very public about them, and sometimes you end up friending weirdos and you have to deal with them for a couple of months until the unspoken grace period ends. But. Friending is kind of an awkward process and I love how friending memes steamlines it, creates an appropriate environment for asking in a way friends only entries never quite manage. Also they are fun! And I have always met great people through them. Also I just like them. In any case, I don't know about your friends, but mine keep complaining to me about not having enough of this type of friend or that type of friend and... this is how we used to fix that kind of problem! And it's been a long time since I've seen one floating around my part of lj.

So I am not totally sure that the 72 people I have friended is enough to like... properly power a friending meme, especially since lj is quiet-ish lately. But prove me wrong! Go forth, fill things out, respond to things, and please tell your friends (because even though I have great friends who can see this I ALREADY HAVE THEM FRIENDED, what do I get out of this?). I don't have a pre-prepared code for advertising but... you can see the entry link, and you all know better how you want to advertise that I know anyway.

........I AM SUCH A BUM, sorry, please still do my meme! Even though I didn't make graphics. Or think of a title. OR DO ANYTHING BESIDES THINK OF QUESTIONS.

Name, Age, Location: Lix, 21 (at least for three more weeks), Spain
Fandoms you're currently super into (or at least chatty about): The Vampire Diaries (don't let my being behind on the show fool you), The Good Wife, Pretty Little Liars, Downton Abbey, Castle, Hart of Dixie, Parks and Rec, Cougar Town. I also watch a ridiculous amount of sitcoms but I don't feel that strongly about most of them.
Old fandoms you will never be able to completely leave behind (the special ones, though, not your entire fandom history): Harry Potter, Friday Night Lights, Gilmore Girls though I haven't watched any episodes in a while. I watched Better Off Ted this summer and it really stuck with me.
Your three very favorite celebrities: I'm terrible at picking favorites; I don't even keep track of celebrities that much. I'm pretty in love with Troian Bellisario's face (and voice and... you get the idea) and there is of course that huge soft spot I have for Kristen Stewart. There's Zoe Saldana, but that's a pretty shallow crush since I don't know that much about her. Hm. Matt Smith is pretty delightful! Yeah, that makes 3-4.
1-3 song(s) you're super into at the moment: I've been listening to Laura Benanti's "In the Mood" on repeat a lot.
Hogwarts House you would fit best in: Slytherin/Ravenclaw. I personally prefer the Ravenclaw tower as far as places to live go but tests this year are all convinced I'm a Slytherin. "Tests" includes Pottermore. And my own perception of myself.
3-5 adjectives your mom/best friend/significant other/someone who loves you would use to describe you: Enthusiastic (that's what 'annoyingly loud about the things I love' means, right?), lazy, cynical, persnickety
Describe the last 10 lj entries you've made in less than 3 sentences: Here's what I thought about TV this week, here's what I thought about TV last week, I've watched some movies and these are my feelings on that, LOOK AT MY NEW KITTY ISN'T HE ADORABLE, please give me some fic recs/help me out with this bingo card.
Things you like & do not like in lj friends: I like chatty people who are actually around -- not necessarily commenting a lot, but if you don't comment and you don't post to your own lj, then what is the point? I like having fic writers/readers on my flist but it's not a requirement. I don't mind criticism and critical posts but I hate overt negativity and hating on things just to hate. My taste in characters can be considered unusual in certain circles, I guess, by which I mean if you regularly hate on Elena Gilbert/Bonnie Bennett/Vicki Donovan/Cary Agos/Britta Perry/etc. please make it easy for me to avoid it/be aware that I do not share your feelings. I also don't like people who are judgmental about shipping, but then I guess nobody does. Basically don't be a dick and we'll get along fine.
Anything else you'd like to add? Disclaimer: if you only post about your life, I probably won't start reading your entries until we've had a few conversations about fandom, whether on my journal or yours or elsewhere. I can't start caring about people just like that. Unless your RL entries are funny, in which case this disclaimer does not apply.

Oh my goodness, where are you in Spain? I'm moving to Madrid in like two weeks.

[identity profile] summerstorm.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm in Ciudad Real, a couple of provinces south of Madrid (and just a short train ride away!). I lived in Madrid for a few months before I dropped out of college for reasons, but I want to move there/try the college thing again. I just can't afford it yet. I hope you enjoy your stay! I haven't experienced the city enough to have a strong opinion of it, but it does have its charm. If nothing else, it's probably one of the best places for a foreigner to move to in Spain -- at the very least it has theaters that run non-dubbed movies. /tunnel vision

[identity profile] care-says.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, well that movie thing is quite good to know (way to prioritize, self!). I'm seeking small vestiges of home since I'm going to be there for a year and it's filling me with excitement that quickly bleeds into anxiety. How long have you been there?

[identity profile] summerstorm.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
In Ciudad Real? I was born and raised here, so, all my life. I was only in Madrid for three-four months, but it's not the most impersonal city. And it has a lot more international stores than most other places in Spain -- not just the theaters, but there's a lot of Starbucks (corporate evil, whatever; I wish there was a Starbucks here, homemade iced caramel macchiatos are just not the same) and fast food chain places, and Fnac is a pretty good mainstream store to find international movies/literature/etc. It's also not a difficult city to get used to. The subway's pretty straightforward, at least; I never really used the bus system.

[identity profile] care-says.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Good to know! Thanks. =) I'm just not really sure what to expect, not to mention that my Spanish is poor at best (I can ask for the bathroom and order food off a menu; it's pretty much the extent of my high school Spanish).

Also, haha, you are like the only other person on here that said they were watching Hart of Dixie. I kind of love it, in those totally weird way.

[identity profile] summerstorm.livejournal.com 2011-10-12 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never traveled anywhere I couldn't speak the language, but people do it all the time, so I guess it can be done! And I'm sure your anxiety will vanish as soon as you set foot on the airport/wherever you're staying.

Hart of Dixie is so cozy. It's honestly become one of the TV highlights of my week, no shame.

[identity profile] noted.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
AHHHHHHHH HART OF DIXIE AND A SLYTHERCLAW :") CYNICAL? (I went into Hart of Dixie expecting something average and I'm so impressed with it each week. fave new show of the season tbh)

are you me? ARE. YOU. ME?

[identity profile] summerstorm.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
right??? The writing and acting on Hart of Dixie isn't really good or anything, but not only is it not a deterrent, it is more than made up for by how enjoyable it is. It just... it knows what it is and it plays into that shamelessly and I love it. It's not good in the serious sense, but it's so happy-making and surprisingly addictive, and it's the show I've been looking forward to the most each week since it began.

[identity profile] noted.livejournal.com 2011-10-14 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's more the cuteness and the just pace of the show, also it reminds me a bit of home because I'm from the south. But I agree, I find myself looking forward to it the most! definitely a new favorite show :)

friends? maybe?

[identity profile] summerstorm.livejournal.com 2011-10-14 10:17 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely, yeah! Adding you now.

[identity profile] crashandburn.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
Friends? You seem quite awesome, judging by the amount of mutual friends! ^^

[identity profile] crashandburn.livejournal.com 2011-10-13 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay!
