that sort of question is so strange to me. like, think of a male character and come up with his quirks and flaws and dreams, and then just...make it a woman. i mean obviously that isn't the best way to go about creating a character since there are some female-specific (and male-specific) traits, but when you get down to it people really aren't that different. it's so frustrating how female characters are always, in some way or another, matching up with some negative stereotype while a male character is seen as being layered and complex.

also, an aside: have you watched the show necessary roughness? (it just started on the usa network) because OH MY GOD that is a strong, female character ♥___♥ you should definitely watch the pilot episode if you have the chance—i know it's available on comcast on demand, if you have that.
