Hahaha, I guess that's why they're feelings, though, "comforting" and "uncomfortable" aren't exactly rational judgments. Objectively, though: your feelings are more on point, it isn't very good. Gillian and David are both kind of bad at not bringing themselves into their episodes -- I think David is very aware of it, though, whereas Gillian proooobably thought this was TOTALLY an episode about Scully. When really it is an episode about what Gillian Anderson wants for Scully.
But then the vision/~healing is about absolving yourself of bad feelings~ parts: I mean how can you even take those seriously, THAT IS NOT DANA SCULLY.
Um not kind of -- exactly the same way. RIGHT DOWN TO THE TRANSCRIPTS AND FANFIC. I read about the Redux I/II chip thing in fic first, and I totally thought that fic writer was SO BRILLIANT for coming up with something like that. But yes, very happy years!
